Hi, I’m Joe Delk, and my name, in the feed business, is and always has been, associated with MoorMan’s Feeds. MoorMan’s reputation has always been as a manufacturer and supplier of top-shelf, premium products. I’m proud to bring experience, knowledge, and integrity to serving my customers.
I grew up in a family ranching operation in Grant County, New Mexico. I received a degree in Animal Science from NMSU in 1969 and later became the operations manager on our growing 600-cow ranching operation.
In 1973, I began feeding MoorMan’s 646 Range Mineral and MoorMan’s Mintrate Protein Blocks to our herd, and in 1984 became a MoorMan’s commissioned sales rep.
We left the ranch in 1988 and moved to Las Cruces to be more centrally located in my sales territory. Because this was before we had a dealer program and I couldn’t always be home, I was known for my use of the “honor system” for selling pig feed. Customers would show up at my barn at their convenience, load their feed, write it down on my sales list, calculate their total from the price list, leave me a check and they’d move on. Some of my old customers still talk about those days.
MoorMan’s was acquired by ADM Animal Nutrition™ in 1998 and I formed Delk Feed Company in 2000 to continue to provide MoorMan’s and other ADM Animal Nutrition™ feeds to local producers, feed stores, and other dealers.
